PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC PUMPS

MAGNETIC DRIVE PUMPS

For special liquids or under specific operating conditions, it is sometimes necessary to use a different solution to horizontal pumps with a mechanical seal. In these cases, seal-free magnetic drive pumps are preferred. Thanks to magnetic coupling and the absence of dynamic seals, magnetic pumps are used for pumping extremely corrosive acids or very dangerous toxic substances. However, because magnetic pumps have closed impellers and thin magnetic coupling coatings, they are sensitive to harsh operating conditions: they are only suitable for clean aggressive liquids free of solids (especially metallic). Therefore, while it is true that magnetically driven pumps reduce the risk of external leakage, it is also true that their tightness must be vigorously tested in relation to the specific characteristics of the liquid and maintenance requirements. Savino Barbera magnetic chemical pumps are available in two versions: corrosion-resistant plastic (PP and PVDF) and metal (AISI 316).

  • Only suitable for chemical liquids with no suspended solids.
  • Plastic version suitable for corrosive chemical liquids: PP and PVDF.
  • Metal version for solvents and hydrocarbons: stainless steel (AISI 316).
  • Threaded (standard version) or flanged connections (on request).
  • Atex certified version for flammable liquids and explosive areas.

Magnetic plastic pumps

Magnetic drive pumps made of corrosion-resistant plastic (PP and PVDF). Ideal for chemical applications, petrochemical plants, pharmaceutical industry, liquids and galvanic processes, alkaline and acid solutions, highly concentrated acids.

Magnetic metal pumps

Magnetic drive pumps made of metal (AISI 316). In the metal version, magnetic pumps are used in special cases such as for pumping coolant liquids, industrial oils, diathermic oils, flammable liquids, fuels, alcohols, solvents...
